What is a green product?

A green product is one that won't harm you, your children, your pets, or the environment inside the house or outside where your waste goes. And it won't hang around like an unwanted guest after you use it.

We were taught to believe that clean smell nice, like lemon scent, pine or orange, but real clean doesn't smell and more importantly, clean can't hurt you in any way.

What about air fresheners?

All air fresheners and room deodorizers includes toxins have been shown to reduce lung functions and are possible carcinogens.

When you study each cleaning product and how these are made and its possible repercussions on health, it is an eye opening experience that leads you to make positive changes for you and those you hold dear.

If you are looking for green products here are some sites to check out:

www.statewidesupply.com, www.ecos.com, www.shaklee.com

I also recommend some good books I read on the subject of green and these are:

1) GREEN GOES WITH EVERYTHING by SLOAN BARNETT.

2) GO GREEN, LIVE RICH by DAVID BACH.

3) LIVING HEALTHY ON A TOXIC WORLD by DAVID STEINMAN and R MICHAEL WISNER.

Remember that the greatest asset a person has is his own mind and if we use it to learn and make smart choices is always a win-win situation.

I hope this information is useful to you and remember I want to listen to your thoughts, questions and ideas on green.

Great post!
I totally agree with you. In my practice, I have seen grown ups, kids and even babies better their health by just switching to green products to do the household cleaning, laundry, dishes, etc.
The nephew of a good friend of mine was having lots of respiratory problems after only one week of having been born and he had been constantly in and out of the hospital for 10 months.
The pediatricians that saw him said he was developing asthma.

When I found out -little Santiago's Grandma told me they had no idea what else to do- I recomended the parents to
switch to Shaklee green cleaning products.
Honestly, they did this only really because they were desperate and were willing to try anything to make baby Santiago's health better.
He has had no more problems with that since (he is now two years old)and of course his parents are quite happy about these green products :)

Thank you for this information, Sebastian, it's time we wake up and realize that the "clean" we are used to may be free of bugs, but it is certainly NOT free of harmful chemicals, which can sometimes be worse than most bugs!
Please keep up the good work :)
